for Approved Trainers of Child Care Providers
Only training in Shaken Baby Syndrome
(SBS) taught by an approved trainer will meet the requirements for SBS
training under the Prevent Violence Against Children Act. Agencies
providing approved training include Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&Rs)
agencies, family resource centers, technical colleges, and some private
agencies.

Resources for approved trainers
The following materials are for approved
trainers to download and use when training child care providers in SBS education.
All of the handouts and resources are
in PDF format, and approved trainers will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print
them. This application is available to download free of charge at
Adobe
Acrobat Reader.
PowerPoint
- When you click on "Shaken Baby
Syndrome Prevention Training for Child Care Providers," your Internet
browser may ask if you want to open, save, or cancel the file. Click on
"save."
- If you select "open," the presentation
will open in PowerPoint on your computer. You will then need to save the
presentation file to your
desktop by clicking on "file" in the top menu and scrolling down to "save as."
- Or, right click on "Shaken Baby Syndrome
Prevention Training for Child Care Providers," and select "save target
as" to save to your desktop. (If you select "open," you will need to do
a "save as" from your PowerPoint software as per No. 2.)
