Report Released on the State of Child Abuse Prevention Efforts in Wisconsin The Wisconsin Children’s Trust Fund (CTF) and the Wisconsin Council on Children and Families (WCCF) released a report today titled “Child Maltreatment Prevention: Where We Stand and Directions for the Future.” The report is one in a series titled “What it will take: Investing in Wisconsin’s future by keeping kids safe today.” CTF and WCCF, in partnership with the Department of Children and Families and the University of Wisconsin Madison School of Social Work and Institute for Research on Poverty, conducted a scan of the state of child maltreatment prevention programs and services in Wisconsin. The findings showed that families have access to very different services depending on where they live, and the amount spent on prevention services per child varies from $0 to $100. Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board approves 2010-2015 Strategic Plan The Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board approved the Children’s Trust Fund's 2010-2015 Strategic Plan on April 12, 2010. View the new strategic plan here. Children's Trust Fund releases 2007-09 Biennial Report The Children's Trust Fund released their report on activities completed over the 2007-09 biennium. Protective factors training available Building Protective Factors with Families is a 2-hour training for child care providers and others who work with young children and their families. The training was developed as part of Wisconsin’s Strengthening Families initiative and is structured around five protective factors that keep children safe and families strong. This training builds early care and education providers’ competencies in working with parents, building protective factors, and preventing child abuse and neglect. Evaluation materials for parent education and support programs now available If you are looking for ways to measure - and show others - the effects your program has on parents, we can help! The Children's Trust Fund redesigned its suite of program evaluation, data collection, and reporting materials for family resource center grantees in 2009.
